Development and Permitting Guide

The Maury County Development Guide is intended to be a general road map to constructing a commercial or industrial building within Maury County. Specific requirements, reviews, permits, inspections and fees are the responsibility of the property owner or developer working with the proper government entity. The Guide does not cover every permit or building amenity, but provides a convenient checklist and reference directory for these new to construction and development in Maury County.

All parcels of land within Maury County, including the incorporated municipalities of Columbia, Mt Pleasant, and Spring Hill, have adopted land use regulations including zoning regulations, subdivision plat approval process, site plan approval processes, and building codes regulations involving new construction, expansions and renovation.

It is recommended that a company representative meet with the appropriate local contact for a "pre-development" meeting to discuss timelines, specific building requirements and development options early in the site selection or building process. The Maury Alliance can help arrange such a meeting.
